Margaret Smerbeck is president of Feminists Choosing Life, a strange group that works tirelessly to take rights away from women. Margaret is anti-choice and a gung-ho supporter of the Catholic Church's Consistent Life Ethic, an ultra-right religious ideology promulgated by the Catholic Church that prohibits birth control, abortion, embryonic stem cell research, and in vitro fertilization. The men in the Rochester Catholic Diocese love Ms. Smerbeck so much they gave her a prize, the Vita Award for upholding and living out the values of the Consistent Life Ethic.
Funny thing about Ms. Smerbeck. She calls herself a feminist when she is far from it. Today she had a letter to the editor published in the Democrat and Chronicle. Read it here, then decide if you think Smerbeck is a feminist or just one really mixed up lady. (Note: Hers is the second letter.)
