Obama's Not Playing Our Tune
James Lawrence, the editorial page editor down at the Democrat & Chronicle, has made it his mission in life to stamp out gangsta rap music, but the Obama campaign is not yet with the program. You'll see what I mean after reading the following letter to the editor, which the D&C published on January 21. After reading the letter, take a peek at the video which follows.
What was behind that song choice?
The editorial page has been on the warpath about gangsta rap music for a while now, trying to make people aware of the harm caused by its misogynistic lyrics. Well, apparently Barack Obama, or some of his overzealous supporters, didn't get the memo.
On Jan. 3, the night Obama won the Iowa caucus, he entered his victory party in Des Moines with Jay-Z's "99 Problems" blaring in the background. Here's a line from that little ditty: "I got 99 problems, but a b..... ain't one."
Naturally, some jumped to the conclusion that this was a dig at Obama's strongest opponent, Hillary Clinton. My, oh my. Politics is such a nasty business.
