These past few days have been two of the most empowering and interesting days for a lowly intern such as me. I never thought that I could learn so much without physically being in the office and doing a research paper.
As loud and outspoken as I am, I would never be able to go in front of a room full of those who oppose my views, knowing that I was flying solo, and still give a coherent and strong statement. Yesterday Marcia took me to an open forum on the need for no-fault divorce, a bill that NOW is adamantly against. All I knew was that 60% of all marriages end in divorce and divorce is mad complicated; basically, I'm never getting married because what's the point if there's such a big chance it's going to end anyway.

When somebody mentions the words “Asian Woman”, what are the first thoughts that come to your head? Bad driver? Submissive to her husband? For all of you who truly believe that, I hate to break to you all but this Asian girl is determined to change that stereotype.
Historically, Asian women were expected to be extremely obedient to their husbands and to be very submissive. During the Tang dynasty in China, women were expected to have their feet bound starting from the age of six. This idea arose from the emergence of neo-Confucianism and a more patriarchal society. By having feet only 4-6 inches, women had their mobility extremely restricted.
